Two arrested for allegedly serving Beef as mutton at Bengaluru Hotel

Two persons have been arrested by Avalahalli police for allegedly serving beef to customers while claiming it was mutton at a restaurant on the outskirts of Bengaluru.

The accused have been identified as Jijoo and Shimbu, both natives of Kerala.

According to police,they were operating Kayaloram Restaurant near Budigere Cross.

The incident came to light when a group of youths who visited the restaurant reportedly became suspicious about the meat served to them.

Though they had ordered mutton dishes,they noticed differences in the texture and taste of the meat, prompting doubts about its authenticity.

The customers questioned the restaurant staff and subsequently alerted Avalahalli police.

Acting on the information,police conducted a preliminary investigation and arrested the two accused.

Officials said further investigation is underway.Samples of the seized meat have been sent for forensic examination,and police are awaiting the laboratory report to confirm its origin.

Police said appropriate legal action will be taken based on the findings of the forensic analysis.
