Inter-state Drug racket operating through international courier services busted by CCB;Four notorious Drug peddlers arrested & worth Rs.2.40 Crore,MDMA, Cannabis and Hydro Ganja seized

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) busted an inter-state drug racket operating through international courier services and arrested four persons involved in trafficking narcotic substances into Bengaluru from abroad.

In two separate operations,Bengaluru City Police seized drugs worth nearly Rs.2.40 crore, including Hydro Ganja, MDMA and cannabis.

Addressing reporters on Tuesday,Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said that the accused were sourcing banned narcotics from foreign countries through parcels sent via the Indian Postal Department’s international courier network.

Hydro Ganja Seized From International Parcels
According to police,the CCB received specific information from Customs officials regarding three suspicious parcels that had arrived at the Kempegowda International postal facility from abroad.

Based on the intelligence from custom officials,CCB officers conducted a raid and recovered 3.312 kilograms of banned Hydro Ganja concealed inside the parcels.

The seized contraband is estimated to be worth around Rs.1.16 crore in the illegal market.

Police arrested Kiran Kumar Samar Ali and Ithahas Khureshi in connection with the racket.

A case has been registered at the Kempegowdanagar police station and further investigation is underway to trace the larger network involved in the supply chain.

Two More Held With MDMA,Ganja:

In a parallel operation,Jeevan Bheemanagar police intercepted a Kerala-registered car on Tunnel Road following credible information about drug transportation.

During the raid,police arrested two accused identified as Junaid and Mohammed.

Officers seized 27 grams of MDMA,1.272 kilograms of ganja and the car used for transporting the narcotics.

The drugs seized in this operation are valued at approximately Rs.4 lakh.Police said the combined value of narcotics seized in both operations stands at around Rs.2.40 crore.
