A 38-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a private lodge in Bengaluru’s Madiwala area,raising suspicion of a possible drug overdose or health-related complication.
The deceased has been identified as Murali,a resident of Puliyampatti in Tamilnadu.
According to police,the incident came to light at a private lodge located in Maruti Nagar under the limits of the Madiwala Police Station.
Police said a man identified as Faji Ulla Khan had booked a room at the lodge.Murali had reportedly entered and stayed in the same room without making an entry in the lodge register.
On Wednesday,Murali was allegedly found lying motionless on the bed inside the room.Lodge staff alerted the police,who rushed to the spot and found blood oozing from the victim’s mouth.
Soon after Murali’s death,Faji Ulla Khan allegedly fled from the lodge and is currently absconding, police sources said.
Investigators suspect that Murali may have died either due to a drug overdose or because of a medical condition.The exact cause of death will be known only after the post-mortem examination.
The body has been shifted to St.John’s Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Police have informed the deceased’s family members in Tamil Nadu and have launched a search for the absconding suspect.Further investigation is underway.
