Fearing defeat, ministers are scared to contest: Bommai

Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said the Congress Party was not finding candidates to contest the coming parliamentary polls due to fear of defeat. Even the ministers are hesitant to contest.

Talking to reporters here on Thursday after meeting former CM and BJP Central Parliamentary Board member, B.S.Yediyurappa,he said the party bosses have announced the list of candidates only after a thorough discussion. Yediyurappa had been always blessed him in politics and came to meet him to seek his blessings again. The veteran leader has promised to come for his campaign.

Bommai said this year, the selection of candidates had been unique. Dr C.N.Manjunath has saved lives of lakhs of people and his selection had sent a message that those who work good would be duly awarded in party.

Giving a ticket to Yaduveeer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar from Mysuru-Kodagu constituency had sent a good message in the whole South Karnataka.

If South India had developed, the credit fgows to the Wadiyar Dynasty. They had uplifted the backward classes also.

The entire South Karnataka was happy for giving Yaduveeer the lok sabha ticket.Such decisions are possible only in BJP .

The former CM said such uniqueness was not present in the Congress Party this time. The ministers are scared of losing the election. It has become a habit for Deputy Chief Minister D.K.Shivakumar to say that those who failed to get tickets were in contact with him. But the reality was that the Congress Party didn’t have the candidates to fight the election.
