*Nothing wrong in withdrawing cases against activists:

Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar today said that a conspiracy was being hatched to remove votes of the poor through SIR (Special Intensive Revision).

Speaking to reporters at his Sadashivanagar residence, the DCM,who is also the KPCC President, said,”I have told our party workers that we must be very vigilant.

We are working to create awareness among MLAs and BLAs (Booth Level Agents) about SIR.Meetings are being called and the dates have already been announced.

That is why we have come forward to raise awareness. Everyone needs to submit an application.Otherwise, citizens will lose their votes.”

“We have seen this happen in other states. If the right to vote is lost, citizens will be deprived of many benefits including pension and the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. That is why we are working to spread awareness,”he said.

*No wrong in withdrawing cases against activists:

When asked about the decision to withdraw cases against Muslims,he said,Politically motivated cases have been withdrawn.Along with that, cases against farmers and Kannada movement activists have also been withdrawn — there is nothing wrong in this.”
