A 40-year-old tea stall vendor was allegedly clubbed to death after he demanded the return of Rs.200 that he had lent to the accused in Bengaluru Rural district.
The incident occurred in Dyavasandra village under the limits of Doddaballapura Police,and the accused has been arrested.
The deceased has been identified as Manjunath,40,a tea stall owner from Dyavasandra.
Senior officer told reporters that the accused,identified as Muniyappa,had visited Manjunath’s tea shop on May 12 and allegedly asked for more money.
Manjunath reportedly refused and instead asked Muniyappa to clear the pending dues of Rs.200 already borrowed from him.
The discussion soon escalated into a heated argument. In a fit of rage,Muniyappa allegedly picked up a stick and assaulted Manjunath repeatedly.
Manjunath sustained severe injuries and was shifted to a hospital,where he later succumbed during treatment.
The police apprehended Muniyappa and registered a case of murder under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Further investigation is underway.
