Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today praised the progress and achievement of Bengaluru-based Bagmane Group on its listing on the National Stock Exchange.

Speaking at the Bell Ringing ceremony at the head office of Bagmane, he said,”It is a matter of pride not just for Bengaluru and Karnataka, but for the entire nation.”

“This is a truly remarkable event, and today marks a new milestone in Bagmane’s 30-year journey. This event is not merely a financial one—it is a testament to the trust that has been earned.

This institution has never forgotten its roots from the day one.The trust placed in Bagmane Prime Office REIT is enormous. There has been tremendous hard work behind this organization’s growth,”he said.

“When I was the Urban Development Minister during S M Krishna’s tenure, then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee attended the foundation-laying ceremony of Bengaluru International Airport. At that time, leaders from four or five countries visited Bengaluru.

Vajpayee remarked that world leaders used to come to Delhi first and then travel to other cities. But now times have changed—world leaders come to Bengaluru first and then go to other cities.

Last year, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to inaugurate the Yellow Metro line, he described Bengaluru as a ‘global city.’We should be proud that Bengaluru is receiving such recognition.

Bengaluru is not just a city—the entire world sees India through Bengaluru. That is Bengaluru’s strength.

Bagmane too has grown enormously, creating vast opportunities. It has 200 million square feet of Grade A office space—the largest in India and third largest in the world,”he said.

“Karnataka is producing 1 lakh IT professionals every year. While California has 13 lakh engineering professionals,Bengaluru has 26 lakh.

Around 2 lakh foreign passport holders are working in Bengaluru.Bengaluru’s IT parks are concentrated in one area, with about 80%— nearly 16 lakh engineers — working along a single 16 km stretch of road. No other region in the country has such a setup. That is Bengaluru’s strength,”he said.

“I have witnessed every step of Bagmane’s growth. The trust given by the owner Raja and his family is immense. This institution has achieved something that makes not just Karnataka but the entire nation proud. That is why I have come here to congratulate them.

A few months ago I participated in the Davos Economic Summit. We had discussions with many companies there. We did not sign agreements on the spot—I told them to come to Bengaluru, see the climate, culture, and talent firsthand, and then sign.Such talented human resources are not found anywhere else,”he said.

“Bagmane will be a great addition to the National Stock Exchange and I am confident it will make all investors proud.

This moment celebrates not just Bagmane’s progress, but the progress of Bengaluru and Karnataka. Some cities grow through infrastructure, others through economic policies—but Bengaluru grows through its talented human resources,”he said.
