*Let Central ministers and officials be directed to use public transport.
*Let the sacrifice begin with BJP MLAs,leaders, and workers.
*Guarantee scheme for Bengaluru to be announced on May 13.
Taking a dig at the Prime Minister’s appeal to the people of India not buy gold and reduce fuel consumption in view of global uncertainties,Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar today demanded that the PM must tell the public who was responsible for the price rise in fuel and gold.
Speaking to reporters at his official residence at Kumara Park,he said,The Prime Minister, who is advising people not to buy gold and to reduce fuel consumption, should explain why these prices have risen and who is responsible for the price hike.”
When asked about the advice the PM gave to the nation on Sunday,he said:”Can you tell people who are celebrating weddings and thread ceremonies not to buy gold?He gives advice.
Earlier, during Covid,he made people light lamps and clap — did that solve the problem? Can you tell a married woman not to wear a gold chain or mangalsutra?.
Whether in hardship or happiness, people take loans to buy gold.If everyone is being told to use public transport, let the Prime Minister first direct Central government officials to travel by public transport.
Let him instruct his own Cabinet ministers. We must first practice what we preach before sending a message to the common people.”
*Let the sacrifice begin with BJP MLAs, leaders, and workers:
When it was pointed out that the PM sought sacrifice from the people in view of global uncertainties,he shot back:”Let the sacrifice first begin with the Central government ministers, officials, officials in BJP-governed states, their party MLAs,leaders, and workers. Then let them advise others to sacrifice.”
