Fire Breaks Out in Commercial Building Near Petrol Bunk in Bengaluru,Two Rescued

Panic gripped among people in Coles Road on Friday evening after a fire broke out in a multi-storey commercial building around 5.30 pm.

According to officials,the blaze originated on the terrace of the building,where a pantry and storeroom were located.

The incident triggered tense moments as the complex is situated adjacent to a petrol bunk,raising fears of a possible explosion.

Two persons who were trapped on the terrace due to the flames and smoke were rescued by personnel from the Bengaluru City Police led by the Inspector of Pulakeshinagar police station,along with teams from Karnataka Fire and Emergency Services attached to the Mayo Hall Fire Station and Civil Defence staff.

Four fire tenders were pressed into service,and after nearly an hour of firefighting operations,the blaze was brought under control.

No casualties were reported.The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained,and further investigation is underway.
