A shocking case of road rage has been reported from Bettadasanapura near Electronics City in Bengaluru, where a couple from West Bengal was allegedly assaulted by a group of miscreants in broad daylight on Friday.
According to police,the victims—Soumyadeep Sen and Vyundreela Pradhan—were travelling in their Tata Altroz (KA 51 MR 0491) from Bettadasanapura towards Electronics City when the incident occurred.
Trouble reportedly began after the couple cautioned a group of youths who were allegedly performing dangerous wheeling on the road.The warning is said to have triggered the attack.
Enraged,the miscreants allegedly intercepted the couple’s vehicle, smashed its windows,and physically assaulted both of them in the middle of the road.
The entire incident was captured on the car’s dashboard camera,and the visuals have since gone viral on social media, raising serious safety concerns.
Recounting the ordeal,Vyundreela Pradhan said the group confronted them after being asked to ride carefully.
“We told them that if an accident occurred, we would be in trouble. They then called more people to the spot and began quarrelling with us,”she said.
She further alleged that around 10 to 15 people gathered and assaulted her husband.When I tried to intervene, they grabbed my neck and pushed me.They also assaulted me,”she added.
The injured couple was later admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Electronics City Police Station.
Based on the complaint police have registered a case of assault and launched a manhunt to trace and apprehend the accused, and further investigation is underway.
