Suspicious Death of Woman from Meghalaya in Live-in Relationship case

A 36-year-old woman from Meghalaya was found dead in an alleged suicide at her rented residence in north Bengaluru,police said.

The deceased has been identified as Agatha Baithiangum.

Senior officer told reporters that She was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house in Sanjeevini Nagar under the limits of Kodigehalli police station.

It was found that Agatha had been in a live-in relationship for the past three years with a 20-year-old man from Manipur,identified as Nawaz Sharif. The couple was residing together in a rented house.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the couple frequently argued, reportedly due to a significant age gap of 16 years and trust issues.

Agatha was said to be suspicious about Sharif’s phone conversations, often leading to disputes.

On Wednesday,the couple reportedly had an argument after Agatha suspected Sharif of speaking to another woman when he was on a call with his mother.Following the quarrel,Sharif left the house.

Police said that Agatha allegedly died by suicide during this time by hanging herself from the ceiling fan.

A case has been registered at Kodigehalli police station, and further investigation is underway.
