19-year-old college student alleges gang rape at a Villa; two booked:
A 19-year-old college student has alleged that she was sexually assaulted by two men at a private villa in north Bengaluru on February 14.
The Amruthahalli police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
According to the complaint,the survivor,a native of Tamil Nadu and a first-year BA student of journalism and psychology at a private college in Bengaluru,came into contact with one of the accused,identified as Dixson Sandro (21),a native of West Bengal,through Instagram about a month ago.
The two later met at a café in Koramangala and continued to stay in touch.
On the night of February 14,the accused allegedly invited her to a party at a villa identified as “Rex Villa”near Jakkur.
The complainant stated that she,along with a friend, reached the villa after midnight.Dixson was present along with his associate Nikhil (35),reportedly a native of Sakleshpur.
In her complaint,the student alleged that the two men forcibly administered a pink-coloured intoxicating pill to her,after which she began to feel dizzy and semi-conscious.She further alleged that both accused sexually assaulted her in a room at the villa against her will.
The survivor also alleged that she was confined in the room for several hours and was later dropped near a mall,where one of the accused allegedly threatened her with dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone.
Due to fear,she did not immediately approach the police. However,after informing her brother and seeking medical treatment at a private hospital on February 17, she lodged a formal complaint.
Based on her statement,the Amruthahalli police have registered a case under Sections 64,70(1),and 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita,which pertain to rape,gang rape,and criminal intimidation.Further investigation is underway.
Police sources said efforts are on to secure the accused and verify CCTV footage and forensic evidence related to the incident.
Meanwhile A 34-year-old second hand car dealer from Rajajinagar has lodged a police complaint alleging extortion and criminal intimidation after a college student accused him of sexual assault through an Instagram post following a private party.She later filed a sexual assault complaint with the Amruthalli police accusing the duo .
In his complaint,the Nikhil HD,stated that he runs a car sales business in Rajajinagar and had leased out a villa in Jakkur,which he rents out for small events and private parties.
According to him,between February 14 and 16,a friend identified as Daka had booked the villa to host a Valentine’s Day party.
During the party on the night of February 14, he was introduced to a woman identified as Vaibhavi @ Viv through mutual friends.He alleged that she behaved in a friendly manner and shared personal details about her life.
The complainant said the party ended around 4 am, after which the woman requested him to drop her home. He claimed he dropped her near a bakery in Rajajinagar and returned home.He stated that he had no further contact with her.
However,on February 18,he came across an Instagram post from an account named “frrvivv” in which the woman alleged that she had been intoxicated and sexually assaulted during the February 14 party.
Following the post,the youth alleged that he began receiving phone calls from unknown persons who introduced themselves as representatives of a Kannada channel called ( “Raj News” )and from a branch office.
The callers allegedly demanded money to “settle” the matter and warned that if he failed to pay, the allegations would be aired on television, leading to defamation and harm to his family’s reputation.
He further claimed that the callers threatened to circulate the video and ruin his life if he did not comply with their demands.
