The staff of city police social media monitoring cell on Wednesday filed a case against city based advocate KN Jagadish kumar under section 196 ( for his post against a minority community,which according to the police will instil communal hatred .
Based on the complaint filed by Manjunath KH,the cyber crime police charged Jagadish Kumar under section 196 (1) a (promoting or attempting to promote disharmony or feelings of enmity,hatred, or ill-will between different religious,racial,language,or regional groups,castes,or communities) for further investigation.
According to the complaint,Jagadish Kumar put out a post against “Marwadi community”, instigating people to protest with a clip of neighbouring state Telanagana‘s campaign against the community.
Many of the followers in the accused post had even reacted with the provocative replies.This according to the complainant is to bring social disharmony between the communities which is violations under the law.
The accused has also been booked earlier for similar offences of provocative posts and abusing the public representatives and others in his social media post .
