Bengaluru District police introduced QR code system to the relocated Cyber Crime police station to improve victim centric approach

In an effort to improve the victim centric approach,the Bengaluru district police has introduced QR code system to the relocated cyber crime police station where people can visit the station virtually with just a click and raise their concern .

In addition to providing required details related to cyber crime,this system will also helps the people to file the complaint with just a click and scan of the QR code , without reaching to the station or waiting for the police officials concerned,Superintendent of Police,CK Baba,said.

With the concept of “ACE” it, act,which stands for act immediately,Lodge Complaint, and provide Evidence for quick response,will help the people not only to prevent cyber crimes but also takes you to links loaded with information required for the people .

Claiming to be first of its kind,Mr.Baba said that the information is made available in English and Kannada language to help the people .

The information contains important links,names of contact numbers of the police stations and officials and Dos and Donts of cyber crime .

The people friendly initiative has many features including the case status update and links to raise complaint directly in case of social media account hack report .

The web page also have case studies and details of different types of cyber crimes and tips on how to be safe .

This is going to save the time and resources of the people and the police officials concerned who are connected to the system.

The QR code facility is going to be extended to other stations,where people can access required details of their jurisdictional or any police station in their finer tips and get required details including case updates.

This facility is not only time saving but also improve the accountability and transparency to maximum extent,a senior officer,part of the project,said .
