Karnataka: BJP MLA Prabhu Chauhan’s son booked on rape charges,case transferred to Bengaluru Upparpet police to probe

The rape case against Prateek Chauhan,son of Aurad BJP MLA Prabhu Chauhan,registered in Bidar women police station in July this year has been transferred to Upparpet police station on Saturday.

The victim from Maharashtra,engaged to the accused claimed that she was engaged to Prateek was raped multiple times at a hotel in Bengaluru on the pretext of marriage,the FIR noted.

Since the woman has alleged that the first sexual assault occurred in Bengaluru,a case has been taken up here on transfer from Bidar,”a senior officer said.

The victim filed a complaint after the accused refused to marry and threatened when the victim and her family visited his residence to finalise the wedding date.

Based on the complaint, the police filed an FIR against Prateek Chauhan by the police.
