CM Siddaramaiah addressing the gathering said It gives me immense pride and joy to stand before you on this truly momentous occasion.Today,we are not just announcing a new academic institution.

We are witnessing the beginning of a new chapter in Karnataka’s journey – a chapter that underscores our commitment to knowledge, progress, and international collaboration.

It is with great honour that we welcome the University of Liverpool to our state,as it sets up its very first campus in India, here in the heart of South India-in our own Bengaluru.

This is a landmark moment. For the first time,a member of the prestigious Russell Group-the Ivy League of the United Kingdom-is making its home in South India.

It is a testament to Karnataka’s growing stature on the global map and Bengaluru’s unique role as a magnet for ideas, intellect, and innovation.

Bengaluru, often referred to as the IT Capital of India and the Silicon Valley of the East, has long been a city where dreams meet opportunity. It is home to institutions that have defined India’s scientific journey-from ISRO to IISc,from HAL to DRDO.

Our city is a thriving ecosystem of startups,R&D centres, universities, and creative industries. The arrival of the University of Liverpool strengthens this legacy and reaffirms what we already know:Bengaluru is not just India’s innovation capital- it is a global hub of excellence.

Our government is proud to facilitate this partnership. We are committed to ensuring that the University of Liverpool finds in Karnataka a welcoming home that is prepared to support it with best-in-class infrastructure, transparent governance, and an enabling policy environment.

But more than just infrastructure,we offer something more meaningful-a shared vision.Like the University of Liverpool,we believe education should improve lives, research should solve real problems, and great ideas come when people from different backgrounds work together.

The impact of this partnership will be wide-ranging.This new campus will open its doors to students from across India and the world, offering them a truly global education, right here in Bengaluru.

I also want to highlight what this moment really means. For many years, our best students went abroad to study.

Today,a top global university is choosing to come here. This shows that Karnataka is becoming a place where world-class institutions want to be and grow with us.

To the students of Karnataka and India,I want to say this: You now have a new gateway to the world, right in your own backyard.

You will have access to a globally respected curriculum, international faculty, cross-border projects, and a platform to dream big and achieve bigger.

To our educators and researchers: this campus is an invitation to collaborate, to co-teach, to co-publish, and to build knowledge that is both locally relevant and globally recognized.

To our industry partners: here lies an opportunity to work with a world-class university to build the workforce of the future, develop cutting-edge products, and find new solutions to global challenges.

On behalf of the Government of Karnataka,I warmly congratulate the University of Liverpool and offer our full support as you begin this journey in India.

We hope this partnership grows strong, the campus succeeds, and it helps our youth build a better future.
