A 40-year-old home alone woman has been murdered at her house on Dargah road in Cottonpet police station limits on Monday.
The Deceased has been identified as Latha,wife of Prakasha,a cloth merchant .
Senior officer told reporters,The assailants has strangled her to death and robbed valuables worth lakhs.
Latha was alone at home and her daughter had gone to work while son has been to school.The Murder came to light when Prakash who had gone to the shop returned home for lunch and found the door ajar and Latha was lying dead on the floor .
The family was preparing for the marriage of their daughter and had jewels and cash at home the family suspect that some one known about this had committed the crime to loot the valuables .
The cottonpet police along with senior officer with the FSL team visited the spot and conducted spot investigations.
The police suspect that the assailant is known to the family as there was no force entry .
The police are collecting the CCTV footage from in and around to identify the accused .
