PSI’s wife dies by suicide row over domestic row

A 32-year-old wife of Police Sub Inspector ended life at her house in HRBR Layout in Govindapura police station limits on Monday.

The deceased Shalini,married to Nagaraj,serving as PSI at KG Halli station limits .

Senior officer told reporters that the couple used to have fight with domestic row frequently and this could be the reason behind her extreme step.

We will register a case based on their allegations and probe the case,”a senior police officer said.

The incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the house owner alerted the police.

Police said last August,Nagaraj married Shalini,who has a seven-year-old child from her first marriage.The duo, natives of Ilkal in Bagalkot,knew each other since childhood and attended the same tutorial.

After completing her graduation,Shalini got married and moved to Hyderabad for work,but her relationship with her husband turned sour.

When Nagaraj,an engineering graduate,told Shalini about his impoverished stature,the latter agreed to support him financially so he could get coached for his PSI exam.

After Nagaraj cleared the exam and joined the police force,he was posted at the Konankunte police station in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile,Shalini took a transfer to Bengaluru and divorced her husband.Thereafter,Nagaraj and Shalini got into a relationship and were eventually married.

But later, the couple developed differences,prompting Nagaraj to move into a paying-guest accommodation.

Late on Monday night,Shalini called Nagaraj and told him she was about to die by suicide by jumping in front of a moving train.

Alerted by Nagaraj,Hoysala police spotted her sitting precariously on the railway tracks and rescued her,before she took her life,police said.

The Govindapura police have registered a case of un natural death and questioned Nagaraj for further investigations .
