The City Railway Police have registered a cheating and forgery case against two railway employees who tried to get six berths reserved by forging the recommendation of the officer of Minister of State for Railways,two years ago .
Based on the complaint filed by R.Ramanathan,Chief Reservation Supervisor, the police booked Jackson Stalin and Jitendra Kumar on Friday for further investigation.
Mr.Ramanathan in July 2022 had received a request from the Office of the then Minister of State for Railways, Raosaheb Patil Danve containing 6 PNRs,(Passenger Name Record number) for release of Head Office Quota for Train No.12295 Sangamitra Express had already been allotted.
The request was sent to Commercial Controller, Chennai.Commercial Controller,Chennai,who verified the genuineness of the request.
The request was verified from the Office of the Minister of State for Railway who confirmed that the request and not originated from their office and it was fake.
Meanwhile,Vigilance Branch of South Western Railway had referred the case for a fact-finding inquiry to the Railway Protection Force,Bangalore Division on the advice of Railway Board.
The fact-finding inquiry had brought out the facts of an organized racket of obtaining the confirmed berths through Head Office Quota with the involvement of Jackson Stalin and Jitendra Kumar in collusion with the outsiders through the forgery and impersonation of VIPs and other Railway Officials.
The complainant requested the police to probe in detail to prevent such forgery,impersonation and violation of IT Act towards misuse of the release of Headquarters Quota.
