Mechanical Engineer stabbed to death over trivial row over theft of mobile phone accused arrested by Magadi Road Police

A 52-year-old mechanical engineer was stabbed to death and his assistant injured when a neighbour daily wage worker attacked them with a knife over a trivial row over theft of mobile phone in Rajajinagar industrial area on Tuesday evening.

The deceased Abdul Malik was killed on the spot while his assistant Jainul sustained multiple injuries admitted to the hospital where he is recovering.

The magadi road police few hours after the incident arrested the accused identified as Manoj charging him with murder and attempt to murder case.

Neighbours who heard the commotion rushed to the help and shifted the duo to the hospital.

Jainul told them that the accused Manoj,working as porter at the neighbouring firm had come to their work place and had stolen their mobile phone.

The duo searched the mobile phone and later verified CCTV to find manoj picking the phone and walking away.

Later when manoj visited their work place confronted by the duo and demanded him to return the mobile phone .

Heated argument ensued in the melee manoj stabbed Malik to death with a knife he had in his pocket .

Jainul rushed to rescue of Malik was stabbed by the accused before fleeing the spot.

The magadi road police further to ascertain any other reason behind the gruesome act .

Both malik and jainul hailed from Bihar and working in the firm for the last five years.
