The Central Crime Branch officials while probing a drug peddling case unearth a racket and booked 32-year-old peddler from Kerala continue operating from the prison for the last one year .
Based on the probe,the CCB officials seized Rs.8.7 lakh which is part of the proceed of crime from different bank accounts after obtaining the court under under SAFEMA (FOP) refers to the Smugglers and Foreign Exchange Manipulators (Forfeiture of Property) Act.
The accused Amir Khan according to the police,was arrested by CCB officials in November last year in Amruthahalli and recovered MDMA crystals worth Rs.71 lakh .

The accused was booked under NDPS act and remanded to judicial custody .
However recently the CCB has busted another drug racket and arrested a peddler who confessed that he was supplying the drugs on behalf on Amir Khan who is operating from the prison.
Further probe revealed that the accused used to get instructions on whatsapp calls from Amir Khan and supplying the drugs to the consumers through drop locations.
Based on the information the officials obtained the body warrant and took Amir Khan into custody which revealed that the money for the drugs is being transferred to the bank accounts belonging to the relatives of the Amir Khan which have been tracked down and seized .
Based on the information the CCB officials invoked SAFEMA (FOP) and NDPS act to seized the proceed of the crime.The accused challenged the CCB move which has been rejected by the court .
This issue of drug peddler operating from the prison once again raised the concern how criminal activities continue unabated despite high security measures with the state of the art jammers at the central prison of Parappana Agrahara.
The police raided the prison but the accused managed to destroy the phone he was using to make whatsapp calls to his associates to operate .
Sources said that containing such activities is a herculean task unless the authorities will resolve the issues of over crowing,segregation of convictions and under trails,recruitment of staff and upgraded security system in place .
