Singer Sonu Nigam booked for ”hurting”sentiments of Kannadigas

Versatile singer Sonu Nigam is in trouble after Avalahalli police have registered an FIR for insulting and offending the people of Karnataka.

Based on the complaint filed by Dharma Raj, member of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike,the police charged Sonu Nigam under criminal intimidation,public Mischief and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace on Saturday.

According to the complaint,Sonu Nigam was performing at east point college of engineering technology in Hirendahalli in the outskirts of the city on April 25.

One of the fan had requested him to sing a kannada song for which he took offense and shouted back blaming as this attitude is resulted in the Pahalgam attack.

This incident is caused deep anguish among his local fans and felt insulted and offended for his behaviour.

This act is also leads to hatred among different communities as the incident recorded went viral on social media,the complaint stated.

Sonu Nigam,according to the complaint has huge fan followed across the country and his reaction can cause hatred among different communities and create disturbance.

Despite knowing the consequences his reaction was unwarranted and comparing the terror attack to the song request amounts to obtio nable and provocative reactions.

The police are now seeking the details of the incidents and will summon the organisers to question for further investigation.
