The Madanayakanahalli police have registered an FIR against 18-year-old youth for causing accidental fire at his house due to negligence which lead to the death of his father and neighbour in Adakamaranahall at Madanayakanahalli police station limits on Monday.
Based on the complaint filed by Gangaiah,58,owner of the house,the police charged the accused identified as Abhishek gowda,son of one of the deceased,under section 287 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and section 125 (a) ( endangering human life or personal safety of others through reckless or negligent actions) for further investigations.
The deceased have been identified as Nagaraju Gowda, 50,father of the accused and Srinivasa,50, a neighbour who went to rescue the victims.
Senior officer told reporters,Nagaraj,a native of Ballary was living in a rented house with his wife and two children in a rented house for the last two years.
Nagaraj was working in as a labour in a private pharma company while his two sons were also working at a private firm.
On Monday,Nagaraj as part of his routine got ready to work and lit a lamp in front of god’s portrait while Abhishek Gowda was asked to change the LPG Cylinder.
Probe revealed that Abhishek Gowda was changing the cylinder and the gas leaked which came in contact with the fire .
Since the house was Mall and compacted the fire spread rapidly engulfed the entire area.
While Nagaraj’s wife Lakshmi Devi rushed out of to the safety with minor injuries,Abhishek,Nagaraju were caught in the fire,Hearing the scream,Srinivas,50,a neighbour and Shivashankar,35,son-in-law of the complainant rushed to the help of Nagaraju and Abhishek but they were took injured in the fire.
The other neighbours rushed to the help and managed to douse the fire and pulled out the injured,rushing them to the private hospital.
From there the injured were shifted to the Victoria hospital where Nagaraju,and Srinivas succumbed.
Abhishek and Shivashankar were critical and being treated at the hospital.The house was also partially damaged in the accident .
The police along with the fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot and managed to douse the fire.
The probe found that rash and negligent act of Abhishek without any precautions led to accident based on the complaint the police booked him and waiting for his recovery for further procedure .
