he Ashoknagar police are on the lookout for an scooter rider who slapped the back of a 20-year-old student in a bid to harass her and sped away on Monday.
The incident,according to the police occurred on March 6 at around 10.15 pm near St Michael’s Church in Shantinagar.
The victim is a 20-year-old college student walking along with two of her friends when the accused riding white coloured scooter came close to her and slapped her back and sped away.
Shocked victim retuned home and narrated the incident in the college the next day before approaching the police on March 8.
Based on the complaint,the police registered an FIR under Section 74 (assault or use of criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for further investigations.
