The fifth
fast track court on Wednesday convicted a 19-year-old youth 20 years of imprisonment and a fine of ₹ 10,000 in a rape and Pocso case registered against him in cottonpet police station on May 2024.
The accused Jeeva Murugappa from Bakshi garden forced the minor girl into his house and raped and threatened her not to inform anyone.
The accused later committed the offence three to four times following which the victim got pregnant.
The family of the victim who got to know about this, filed a complaint with the cottonpet police following which the accused was arrested.
Based on the evidence and other relevant documents gathered by the investigation officers as PIs,as,Dr.BS Sudhakar and Yerriswamy E and the case was argued by public prosecutor Anurevu who inquired the witness and a detailed charge-sheet was submitted by the police,the fifth fast track court magistrate convicted him and also directed the district legal service authority to pay a compensation of Rs.five lakh to the victim.
