IPS officer Vartika Katiyar,who filed a complaint against D Roopa,transferred

D ays after the News of two IPS officers fight and one of the raised a complaint to the chief Secretary against another,the state government to avoid further embarrassment,transferred Deputy Inspector General (DIG),Internal Security Division,Vartika Katiyar to DIG and Additional Commandant General,Home Guards and Ex-officio Additional Director,Civil Defence on Monday.

The transfer to post came after Ms.Vartika,serving as DIG in ISD in her complaint accused her senior,Roopa D Moudgil,Inspector General (IG)of planting confidential documents from other departments in her office.

In her complaint filed a complaint on February 20 with Karnataka Chief Secretary Dr.Shalini Rajneesh,copying Director General of Police Alok Mohan.

She alleged that on September 6,2024,two police personnel under Roopa Moudgil’s direction entered her office and photographed documents,which were subsequently shared via WhatsApp.

She accused Head Constable Manjunath TS and Home Guard Mallikarjun accessed Vartika’s office using keys from the Control Room during her absence.

In her complaint,Vartika expressed concern over potential threat to her career and said that any untoward incident happened to her in future can be attributed directly to Roopa.

“In the future,incidents like this may repeat and if anything wrong happens,D Roopa will be directly responsible,”Ms.Vartika said in her complaint .

She also alleged that Roopa had threatened to submit a negative annual report against her.

Ms.Roopa has courted controversies even earlier with many officials and even fighting legal battles with them causing major embarrassment to the public .
