Armed gang rob goldsmith and mom at gun point at their home in broad day light and escaped with valuables worth Lakhs

Gang of four armed men barged into the house of a gold smith,assaulted him and mother at gun point , robbed valuables and escaped after locking them in washroom in broad day light at their house in RT Street Chickpet under City Market Police Station limits on Friday.

Senior officers with SOCO officials rushed to the spot and after inspecting the spot and collecting details said that,The victim, Nagaraju Shinde,27,busy in gold smith work at home while his mother was doing her daily chores at around 3.20 pm at their house when four men armed with knife and gun barged into the house .

They overpowered Nagaraju and his mother before they could release and gagged their mouth with tapes and tied their hands and legs with ropes.

They closed the door and window and started demanding to hand over the valuables.Father of Nagaraju was out for walk after lunch when the incident occurred .

Nagaraju tried to resist for which they slashed his neck with a knife and even mother who reacted to the assault was also slashed.The duo received minor injuries .

The accused later ransacked the house and removed ear rings and gold chain from Nitha Shinde and took away Rs 20,000 cash from the cupboard and also Rs. 13,000 cash kept in the donation box at the god portrait.

The accused were in the middle age and speaking in Hindi,Nagaraju told the police .

The accused later locked Nagaraju and his mother in wash room and escaped with 26 grams of gold valuables and Rs 33,000 cash.Nagaraju managed to untie and raised alarm for help .

The City market police have registered a case under section 311 (Robbery or dacoity committed with the intent to cause death or grievous hurt) for further investigation.
