Bengaluru: Man arrested for making hoax bomb call, falsely implicating enemies

The Vidhana Soudha police have arrested a 40-year-old man for trying to implicate a group of people through hoax call after incurring loss in a business deal .

The accused Mansoor,40,owner of the provision shop from Shivajinagar had called the police control room from a mobile number and warned that a gang of six people are planning to execute series of blasts in public places on Republic Day on January 26 .

The accused even shared the names of the suspect and their contact numbers and said that the explosion will be similar to Rameshwaram cafe blast.

The call,according to the police was made on January 9, at around 5.30,was received by Subramani M,PSI,who noted down the details and later filed a complaint with the jurisdictional Vidhana Soudha police for further investigations.

Based on the complaint,the Vidhana Soudha police have registered an FIR against the caller charging him under section 351(4) (criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) and 353( Statements conducing to public mischief) for further investigations.

Based on the mobile number the caller from his acquaintance,the police track down Mansoor from his house and arrested him.

Probe revealed that the accused named six people,gave their addresses and phone numbers and claimed that they were planning a Rameshwaram Cafe-like blast on January 26.The IED blast at Rameshwaram cafe last year had injured 10 people.

Investigations revealed that Mansoor was running a provision store and the owner of the building had sold it to the people for a good price .

This has rendered Mansoor jobless and he wanted to take a revenge and included the landlord and the people who bought the building and the middlemen and decided to implicate them,in a false case .

The accused was produced before a court and was remanded in judicial custody for further investigation.
