Delhi: Ahead of the assembly elections, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal has faced trouble again. The Centre has given permission to the Enforcement Directorate to interrogate him ( Arvind Kejriwal ) in the liquor scam case linked to illegal cash circulation. The Supreme Court had ordered in November last year that the ED should seek prior permission to interrogate public representatives.

In this context, the ED wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena last month seeking permission to investigate Kejriwal . He approved it. The investigating agency brought the matter to the attention of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Later, the Center gave the green signal to the ED to investigate Kejriwal. With this, there are chances that the investigating officers will question the former CM soon. These developments have become a topic of discussion with the assembly elections being held in Delhi in a few days

The then Delhi CM Kejriwal was arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, on charges of irregularities in the new liquor policy (Liquor scam case). Later, the CBI also registered a case and took him into custody in June last year. He approached the Supreme Court on this issue.. and bail was granted last September. It is known that Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister a few days after being released from jail.

Delhi, which has 70 assembly seats, will go to polls in a single phase on February 5. The counting of votes will be conducted and the results will be announced on February 8.
