disagrees on the difficulties in purchasing grain, we will not tolerate officials and employees.
We will take strict action against millers who are causing hardship to the farmers
, the Chief Minister has ordered the collectors.
Amaravati: CM Chandrababu Naidu has made it clear that if he finds out that farmers are being inconvenienced in the procurement of grain, he will go there himself. ‘We have brought policies to simplify the grain procurement process. We have made funds available. However, why should we tolerate it if the government gets a bad name due to the failure of officials and employees?’ he said. He wanted the government to think about what to do to solve the moisture problem. He said that rice recycling and smuggling have become like a mafia, and the machinery should work on this with a plan. An investigation should be conducted and action should be taken. He reviewed the procurement of grain with district collectors and civil supplies department officials on Thursday. ‘Not a single farmer should face any difficulty in the procurement of grain. It is the responsibility of the officials to complete the procurement without any problems. If farmers face any difficulty due to non-cooperation from officials, employees and rice millers, strict action will be taken,’ he warned. The CM ordered that the details of district-wise grain procurement be informed to the public through the media. He said that information is being collected from farmers through the IVRS system.
Farmers can sell at any mill
“In the previous government, it was necessary to send only to a few mills. Money was not given for months. Now farmers can send their grain to any mill. We are depositing money within 24 to 48 hours. We have provided the facility for farmers to sell their crops through WhatsApp. We have formed committees with farmers, millers and officials,” he said. He said that the moisture problem can be solved by drying it with dryers. Chandrababu instructed the officials not to hesitate to take strict action if any rice miller causes trouble without cooperating with the farmers. He made it clear that the culture of farmers going around them should not be seen in the millers. “We should ensure that farmers do not have to bother for grain bags.. Loading and unloading should not take long. GPS system should be implemented for vehicles. We told them that we are buying through WhatsApp. Let’s see what the results are,” he advised the officials.
