Vijayawada: Heavy rains lashed the cities of Vijayawada and Guntur. Due to the incessant rain, the roads are turning into ponds in many places. Roads in Vidyadharapuram and RR Nagar in Vijayawada are facing severe problems due to waterlogged roads. Knee-deep water has reached the roads at many places.

  • Areas around Vijayawada bus stand were submerged. Due to this, the motorists and locals are facing serious problems.
  • Heavy traffic has come to a standstill at Ramavarappadu Ring Road. Vehicles stopped till Nidamanur.
  • Heavy rains caused landslides at Sunnapubatti center in Mogalrajapuram. Four people died in this incident. Many were seriously injured.
  • Heavy rain water accumulated under the Benz Circle flyover. Due to this, there was a problem for the traffic on the national highway.
  • Durgagudi Flyover in Vijayawada has been temporarily closed. Three buses and a lorry got stuck in the water as the rain water stood near the bridge.
  • Gaddipadu pond in Guntur city is overflowing due to heavy rains. Due to this, water entered the nearby houses. The locals are suffering a lot. MLA Naseer Ahmed visited the colony and got to know the situation.
  • Traffic on the national highway was severely disrupted at Mangalagiri toll plaza. The area looks like a reservoir with rain water. Due to this Guntur-Vijayawada passengers are facing severe difficulties. Officials have advised travelers to be cautious.
  • Due to heavy rain, the areas surrounding Guntur Autonagar and Peddakakani Police Station were flooded.
  • Pedakakani mandal Nambur pond overflowed and water entered the houses of the village. The streets were flooded.
