CM Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka presenting a memento to PM Modi
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to allocate the coal mines under Sim Gareni to that company and to remove the currently auctioned Shravanpalli coal block from the auction list. They wanted to allocate 3 mines of Koyagudem and Satthupalli block under the Godavari valley coal reserve area to Singareni. As these mines are crucial for meeting the needs of power generation centers in the state, they appealed to allot them to Singareni. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti along with Vikramarka met Prime Minister Modi for about an hour at Loka Kalyan Marg here on Thursday afternoon. The CM discussed with the Prime Minister the issues related to the allocation of coal mines, restoration of ITIR, allocation of protection lands, and the resolution of the issues in the state redistribution act. Met Home Minister Amatisha.
The CM’s requests to the Prime Minister are as follows…
- In 2010, the UPA government granted an Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) to Hyderabad. After 2014 it did not go ahead. Now restore it.
- IIM should be set up in Hyderabad Central University campus as there is enough land available. The state government is ready for allotment of land if it is set up elsewhere. 24 new Navodaya Vidyalayas should be sanctioned to the state.
- A coach factory should be set up in Kazipet as per the promise given during the repartition of the state. In July 2023, the Ministry of Railways had announced that a periodic overhauling workshop would be set up here instead of a coach manufacturing centre. It does not make sense for the Railway Department, which has sanctioned coach factories to other parts of the country, to announce that it is not possible to set up one in Kazipet. Allocate Rs.1,800 crore for the development of backward areas as promised in the Partition Act.
- Telangana should be included in the India Semiconductor mission as many companies are showing interest in setting up Semiconductor fabs in Hyderabad.
- 25 lakh houses should be sanctioned to Telangana out of 3 crore houses under the Prime Minister’s Awas Yojana. The state government is ready to construct houses as per PMAY guidelines.
- In view of the increased traffic needs in the capital city of Hyderabad, the lands belonging to the defense department should be transferred to the state government for the construction of elevated corridors on the Hyderabad-Karimnagar road and Hyderabad-Nagpur road (NH-44). Also, 2,450 acres under the Central Defense Department should be transferred to the state government for expansion of roads, transport and other infrastructure in Hyderabad city. Alternatively, the state government is ready to hand over 2,462 acres leased to Research Center Emarat in Rawirala area to the Centre.
- According to the state redistribution act, the central government has promised the development of infrastructure in Telangana and the establishment of a steel plant in Baiyaram. Central government agencies have already submitted feasibility reports. Therefore, the process of setting up a steel plant should be expedited immediately.
- In the first phase of the Bharatmala project, the central government has approved the construction of a national highway in the northern part of the Hyderabad Regional Ring Road (RRR) (from Sangareddy to Chautuppal). The state government is ready to bear 50 percent of the road land acquisition cost. Hence the process of tenders for these roads should be taken up as soon as possible. The southern part of RRR (from Choutuppal to Sangareddy), which is most useful for the development of national highways around Hyderabad, should be identified as a national highway and its construction should be undertaken immediately in Bharatmala project.
- 13 state highways should be upgraded to national highways in view of increased transport needs to major towns and holy places in Telangana. Jagityala-Peddapalli-Kataram, Dindi-Devarakonda-Mallepally-Nalgonda, Bhuvanagiri-Chityala, Chautuppal-Amangal-Shadnagar-Sangareddy, Marikal-Narayanapeta-Ramasamudra, Vanaparthi-Kottakota-Gadwala-Mantralayam, Manneguda-Vikarabad-Tandur-Zaheerabad-Bidar, Karimnagar-Sirisilla-Kamareddy-Ellareddy-Pitlam, Erravalli X Road-Gadwala-Raichur, Kothapalli-Husnabad-Janagama-Hyderabad, Duddeda-Komuravelli-Yadagirigutta-Rayagiri Cross Road, Jaggaiyapet-Vaira-Kottagudem roads have been upgraded as national highways grade should be done
