Cyber Crime of Central Crime Branch formed to probe the hoax email threat sent to 48 Schools says B Dayananda CoP

A special team from Cyber Crime of Central Crime branch has been formed to probe the hoax email threat sent to 48 schools in and around the city .

The police team stepped up the probe and sent emails to the service provider seeking details of the mail to track down the accused .

Based on the response further investigations will be initiated,city police commissioner B.Dayananda, said.

Meanwhile all the schools which had received the threat mails have been asked to file a complaint with the jurisdictional police stations.

The cyber crime officials who had stepped up the investigation found the source of the email to Cyprus through a service domain.

Meanwhile confusion continued even on Saturday as many students remained at home and did not attend the school.

Many of the schools which did not receive threat mails declared holiday in the afternoon after anxious parents gathered in front of the schools to take their children home .

Police had to struggle hard to convince the parents not to panic and the email was hoax he said.
