Man targeting pharmacies to steal cash arrested by Vidyaranyapura police

The Vidyaranyapura police on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old man who was involved in over 13 robberies targeting pharmacies in and around the city since the last one year .

The accused identified as Samiuddin,resident of JC Nagar was addicted to alcohol and drugs.

In order to arrange money for his vices,the accused started targeting pharmacies and approach the salesmen as customer when they were alone and rob cash at knife point.

Using similar modus operandi,the accused attempted to rob Apollo Pharmacy on Singapura main road and escaped as soon as the victim,Harikumar raised alarm.

Based on the complaint,Vidyaranyapura police Inspector Shivaswamy CB,and his team swung into action and track down the accused and arrested him.

Investigations revealed that the accused confessed to 13 robberies in and around the city so far.The police have taken the accused into custody for further investigations.
