Salesman turned HBT offender arrested by Tilaknagar police recovered stolen property worth Rs.1.10 Crore

The Tilaknagar police on Tuesday arrested a 35-year-old diaper salesman for breaking into the house of his relative to rob cash and gold valuables total worth Rs.1.10 crore.

Senior officer told reporters,The accused Mohammed Rafiq, resident of Gurappanapalya had planned the burglary one month in advance and even sourced the house keys to get a duplicate one.

He receed the house and many times. He got to know that the house owner had a plan to visit Ramanagar with family to attend a wedding on September 29.

Making use of the opportunity the accused gain entry into the house and took away 2.5 kilos of gold valuables and Rs.10 lakh cash,total worth Rs.1.10 crore .

Rafiq used the scooter with fake registration number plate and wore full face helmet.However the police analysed over 300 CCTV footage to track him down to his house where he was arrested.

DCP,Southeast,CK Baba,supervised the investigation and it was revealed that Rafiq knew about the complainant,a scrap dealer who made the fortunate and having cash and gold at home.

Rafiq zeroed in on the house to become rich overnight and hatched a plan. The accused had invested the stolen money in his business and bought gold valuables expensive bike.Being a spendthrift he blew part of the money on vices .

Based on his confession the police recovered 2.5 kilos of gold valuables and part of the cash from him.
