he Bellanduru police have arrested a 25-year-old cab driver for assaulting a woman passenger over a trivial row on Bhoganahalli on Wednesday.
The victim,Vinita Agrawal,48,had booked the Uber cab to go to hospital .
Senior officer told reporters she got into the wrong cab and realized soon after getting in.She tried to get down but the car started moving.
Heated argument ensued following which the accused manhandled and slapped her.Passers-by rushed to her rescue and alerted the police.
The police rushed to the spot and arrested the driver charging him under wrongful restrain and assault for further investigations.
The accused Basavaraju in his defense alleged that the woman passenger behaved rudely and slammed the door of the car while getting down.She shouted at him when he objected her rude behavior.
