Ex-Teacher Kavitha held,Matrimonial sites used to Honey trap men busted by Indiranagar police:

The East Division police of Indiranagar police has arrested a 38 year old former teacher for honey trapping and blackmailing men for ransom on the pretext of foisting fake cases.

The accused has been identified as,Kavitha CS,38,a former teacher resident of Devaiah park.

Senior officer said,the racket was busted when the accused approached Indiranagar police with rape charges against a private firm employee after visiting his house and later demanded ransom of Rs.5 lakh to withdraw complaint.

Based on the complaint the team detained the private firm employee during investigation who revealed that he is a victim and they both met in a matrimonial site as Jeevansathi.com and she visited his house and later started demanding ransom of Rs.5 lakhs.

The victim negotiated with her to bring down ransom amount to Rs 2 lakh,recorded the conversation and filed a complaint.

Based on the complaint,the police arrested Kavitha CS,38,during investigations it is revealed that Kavitha, resident of Devaiah park,uploaded her profile on matrimonial websites to trap people.

Using this modus operandi,she befriended Prem Dynal,resident of Canberra apartment in Indiranagar few days ago.

The duo exchanged numbers and Kavitha visited his house on December 26.

The duo spent few hours at home and Kavitha recorded their private moments in her laptop, before demanding for ransom.

She robbed gold chain from Prem and demanded money failing which she threatened to file rape charges.

Prem refused for which Kavitha went to Indiranagar police station and filed a complaint.

When police summoned Prem to the station for questioning,Kavitha who was out side the police station, demanded Rs 5 lakh to withdraw complaint.Prem negotiated to settle the amount to Rs 2 lakh,later narrated the ordeal and explained the plot to investigating officer.

A detailed Investigation revealed that Kavitha was earlier filed rape cases against two persons in Malleshwaram and Mahadevapura police station limits.

Inquires also revealed that Kavitha was teacher at government school in chikkamagaluru and booked for assaulting head master.She was later dismissed from service for unauthorized absent for a long time.

The Indiranagar police have arrested the accused and remanded to judicial custody. investigating is under way to ascertain since how long Kavitha was running this racket.
