Our government is committed to the development of Kalyana Karnataka region.Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that the Congress government will put in sincere efforts for the comprehensive development of Karnataka.
He was speaking at the launch of the government’s flagship program Griha jyothi, today.
When Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister,the Congress government brought an amendment and enacted article 371J .
AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge and former CM Dharamsingh have played an important role special status to the region under 371 J.Many people from this region are able to get government jobs due to 371 J,he said.
During the previous tenure of our government,14.42 lakh houses were constructed including 99,600 houses in Kalyan Karnataka.
But the previous government constructed only 8 lakh houses in five years,out of which only 19000 houses were constructed in Kalyan Karnataka,he said.
Implementing the five guarantees is our responsibility:
Terming the day as historic,the CM said that the five guarantees were promised to the people of the state before the elections.
During 2013-18, our government had fulfilled 158 promises out of 165 promises and 30 ambitious programs were also implemented.
So this time the people gave an unprecedented victory to the Congress party.The chief minister assured that the government will implement 76 promises as mentioned in the manifesto along with five guarantees in the next five years.
Women are satisfied with Shakti Scheme:
Our government has fulfilled the promises.As soon as the Congress government came to power,the cabinet decided to implement the five guarantees.
Accordingly, the ‘Shakti’ scheme was implemented on June 11.So far, more than 30 crore women have benefited and about 50 lakh women are traveling for free every day through this scheme.He said that the women of the state are happy with this project.
We have fulfilled our promises:
Around 2.14 crore people will benefit under the Griha Jyoti program and 1.41 crore people have registered for the scheme. This scheme was initiated on July 1st.
We have symbolically given zero bills to 10 people today.People will get zero bill in the month of August. We are walking on the footsteps of Buddha,Basava, Gandhi,Ambedkar and Narayana Guru.
Karnataka Model in Karnataka:
Five guarantee schemes have been formulated with the concept of Universal Basic Income and Karnataka model will be initiated in Karnataka.
Mahatma Gandhi said that poverty is the worst form of violence. He said that the central government did not cooperate to provide rice to the Annabhagya Yojana, hence our government is paying Rs 170 instead of 5 kg of rice to the beneficiaries.
Purchasing power of people will be increased:
Grihalakshmi scheme will be tentatively launched on August 24.Rs.2000 will be provided to 1.28 crore families under this scheme.People’s purchasing power has increased.
In turn, it increases the GDP and economic activities in the state.He informed that,each beneficiary will get 4 to 5 thousand from these guarantees which amounts to 48 to 60 thousand rupees annually.
Development programs to be implemented:
Yuvanidi scheme will be implemented for unemployed graduates and diploma holders.Development programs will not be affected by implementation of guarantee schemes.Along with guarantee schemes, developments programs will also be implemented,he said.
Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, AICC President Mallikarjuna Kharge, Energy Minister KJ George, Kalaburagi District In-charge and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyanka Kharge, Ministers Ishwara Khandre, Rahim Khan, Sharanprakash Patil Darsanapur, MLAs Allamprabhu, Kaneez Fatima, B .R.Patil, M.Y Patil were present.
