School in Rajajinagar gets hoax bomb threat call,by school student held,sent to Juvenile board

The Basaveshwaranagar police on Saturday arrested a minor boy of a private school for sending bomb hoax email to NPS school in Rajajinagar from his laptop on Thursday night .

Tension gripped as the management read the mail which stated that there is going to be an explosion at lunch time and informed the police,before declaring holiday.

Immediately senior officials along with bomb disposal squad rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough check to confirm that it was a hoax call.

Based on a complaint,the police by the school management,the police track down the boy through the IP address.

The boy is a student of another school has searched email id of NAFA school in Internet and sent the above mail without knowing it’s consequences,said Lakshman Nimbargi, DCP,West Division.

As per law the police recorded his statement and will be handed him over to juvenile board for further procedure”,he added.

During investigation it was found that the boy used his mother I pad to send mail.

This boy is studying in 8th standard from a private school in East Division and 14 years of age.

His friends are in NPS school and he randomly mailed without knowing the consequences.

Its a high time that the schools should conduct awareness campaigns on cyber safety and cyber law,all students at the age of 10 onwards accessed to computer,interest and smart phones”,Lakshman Nimbargi,said.
