The Varthur police have arrested two bike lifters and recovered 10 stolen bikes and a car worth Rs.5 lakh from them.
The accused Srinivasa,22 and Waseem Akram,23, used to move around the residential areas and steal bikes parked in front of the house using duplicate keys.
The accused would then ride the bikes to neighboring Hosur and rural areas and sell the bikes for throwaway prices .
Based on a bike theft complaint,the police kept a watch and track down the accused and arrested them.
