Panic gripped among the sentries when they spotted a drone flying inside the restricted area in Benson town on November 9.
The security personnel alerted their seniors and stepped up security measures before registering a case with the jurisdictional JC Nagar police .
G Biju,security personal deployed at Infantry Battalion,Para Military compound,said that the drone was spotted flying in the restricted area between 6.30 pm to 7 pm.
The security personnel launched a search to track down the person operating but in vain, he said in his complaint.
Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case under section 448 (trespass) for investigations.
The police conducted an inquiry and verifying CCTV footage in and around the area to identify the person why was operating the drone.
The police are inquiring with the residents in and around the restricted area to get some leads.We have some leads are verifying,a police officer said .
In November 2021,the Airport police had booked Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) officials for allegedly flying a drone into a restricted area of the Kempegowda International Airport without permission.
Airport duty manager Manjunath K.M complained to airport police against the officials concerned under Section 11a (wilfully flying any aircraft in such a manner as to cause danger to any person or to any property) of the Aircraft Act.
However inquiry revealed that ICMR was working on a project and used drone.
