Police personnel at the Ramamurthynagar station were shocked for sometime when a 32-year-old mechanic walked into the station in the wee hours of Tuesday and informed that he had killed a man and wanted to surrender.
He later led the police outside the station towards his parked car to show a man lying dead on the seat of the car and recovered iron rod,which he used to bludgeoned him to death .
The accused Rajashekhar,resident of Horamavu and his mother Suvidha,who runs women self help group and social activist has lend Rs.2 crore to the deceased Maheshappa,after he promised to get them huge sum of loan .
The deceased is a tout claimed to have high level contacts promised to get Rajashekhar and Suvidha crores of rupees of loan from nationalized banks with a nominal interest rates .
Rajashekhar and Suvidha had borrowed loan from local money lenders to give it to Maheshappa anticipating huge sum of loan,but he had cheated them and escaped to Nanjanagudu,near Mysuru.
The mother and son had to sell their house to repay the money borrowed from local money lenders and were forced to live in Rajashekhar’s father-in-law ‘s house .
Besides the family had faced many health issues and in dire need of money, but Maheshappa used to hoodwink them .
Enraged by this Rajashekhar two days ago went to Nanjanagudu to track down Maheshappa.
He got Maheshappa back to the city, and move around in the car and tortured him demanding the money.
Rajashekhar confessed that he was hitting Maheshappa with iron rod to torture and create fear psychosis to get back his money, but in the melee Maheshappa sustained serious injuries and succumbed in the car.
Rajeshekhar who realized Maheshappa was dead went to the station and surrendered before the police.
He has been booked under murder and taken into custody for further investigations, Bhimashankar Guled, DCP, east division, said.
