Seven including four women held for fleecing bizmen in guise of human rights officers in Bengaluru

T he Kodigehalli police on Saturday arrested a gang of seven people including four women who were part of the extortion racket operating under the banner of human rights organization.

Based on the complaint,the Kodigehalli police arrested Prakash Murthy,Pradeep,Dhruvaraj,Ramya and Indra posing as members of human rights organization visit the shops in and around the Northeast division and threatened the owner of the shop accusing him of irregularities and extort money.

The accused on last Monday barged into Mataji home appliances,Rajalakhshmi Fancy stores and Balaji stores situated in Bhadrappa Layout in Kodigehalli threatening the owners for selling illegal goods and services and extorted money from them ranging from Rs.2,000 to Rs.5,000.

Based on the complaint,the police track down the accused and arrested them.

The police seized a car and cash Rs.2,000 from the accused .

The police are now probing to ascertain whether the accused have involved in similar offences earlier.

Devaki,and other crime staff has been appreciated for the exemplary and meticulous investigation done by them in nabbing the seven member gang who used to extort money from traders and shop keepers in the guise of Human Rights Officer are now cooling their heels in jail a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
