Stone Pelter On Train Arrested By RPF Tumakuru

On 23.09.22 at about 04:45 PM, it was reported that some miscreants pelted stone on loco of Train No.20651 KSR Bengaluru – Talguppa Express between Nidvanda and Hirehalli railway stations resulting in breakage of window glass.

Railway Protection Force,Tumakuru registered a case at Tumakuru out post under Railway Act,Section -154.

On 24.09.2022 RPF Tumakuru apprehended a person named Shekar. KS, aged 30 yrs. resident of Tumakuru.

On the same day he was produced before Court and convicted for his offence by the Court and sentenced to pay a fine of Rs.1000 and in default to undergo simple imprisonment for 60 days. The accused paid fine.

Further awareness was conducted among the public by RPF against such stone pelting incidents in the section and informed of the legal action taken up against such offenders.

It is a recurrent occurrence in some sections in Bengaluru. Cause could be ignorance, mischief etc.Awareness drives are regularly carried out. However, it is also hoped that punishment would act as a deterrence to this kind of behaviour which may harm railway passengers. Says Aneesh Hegde Chief Public Relation officer.
