Security guard turned Bike lifter arrested by Mahalakshmi Layout police recovered 21 stolen bikes worth Rs.12.5 Lakhs

The Mahalakshmi Layout police on Wednesday arrested a 39-year-old security guard and recovered 21 stolen motorcycles worth Rs.12.5 lakh from him.

The accused has been identified as,Srinivas, resident of Laggere is a watchman for a garment factory .

Senior officer told reporters,series of bike theft case was reported in Mahalakshmi Layout police station limits near Metro station and other places as a victim who lost his bike which was parked near Metro station in the streets was lifted.

Based on complaint the special team under the supervision of ACP,Praveen M PI,Kantharaju HM and his team swung into action the team visited the crime spot and after analysing CCTV footage the team got his identity and based on other technology skills the team zeroed in on accused.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that he is into expensive vices have a meager salary .

He started to steal bikes parked in front of the house and sell it to his contacts in Kolar and parts of Andhra Pradesh for throwaway prices .

He was stealing bikes since 2019 until June 28 when he picked up a bike parked near metro station .

Based on his confession the police recovered 21 stolen bikes worth Rs.12.5 Lakhs from him.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP, Praveen M,PI,Kantharaju HM,PSIs,as,Lepakshimurthy,Sunil Pawar,Smt.Kalavathi KR,Vinayak K, Chandrashekhar R,KS Sathish,Karthik S and crime staff as,Srinivas,Naresh,Chowdegowda,Manjunath, Santhosh,Abhay Kumar,Chethan,Thippeshnayak,Madhu Kumar and others has been appreciated for nabbing the Notorious bike lifter who has given sleepless nights to residents and cops is finally landed in jail and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
