Jagannath Joshi had a major role in the growth of Jana Sangh & BJP in Karnataka: CM Bommai

Jagannath Joshi has played a major role in organisation and growth of Jana Sangh and BJP in Karnataka,Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said.

The Chief Minister was speaking after performing the Bhumi Puja for Jagannath Rao Joshi memorial Centenary Bhavan in Belagavi.

Joshi worked tirelessly to take the ideology and principles of Jana Sangh and BJP to the people.

BJP has grown into a major political force today in Karnataka due to the strong foundation laid by Joshi, Bommai said.

Bommai recalled his father’s association with Joshi.I had an opportunity to work with Joshi during one of the elections in Dharwad.

I am participating in this programme as an ardent fan of Joshi,Bommai said.

Joshi had the patriotism and grit of Bal Gangadhar Tilak.He endeared himself to everyone with his Vajpayee-like oratory skills and friendly nature.He was a clerk in the army and later joined RSS to emerge as its leader, Bommai said.

Joshi played a key role in the Goa Liberation movement too.Adopting his ideals in life is the best way of paying tributes to him,the Chief Minister said.
