22-year-old youth alleges Police custodial torture by Byatarayanpura police

Close to the heel of custodial torture by Varthur police, a 22-year-old man was allegedly detained by Byatarayanapura police and tortured so bad that he had to be hospitalised on Friday .

The victim,Thousif Pasha is admitted to Victoria hospital and recovering.A similar case was reported two days ago in Varthur police station and three constables were suspended after prima facie.

Pasha, a resident of Old Guddadahalli was working as a daily wager and he was detained by sub inspector Harish and his team over a street fight by a group .

Basha,father of the victim,spoke to media and alleged that his son was assaulted by the policemen in the custody. He demanded action against officials responsible.

They cut his beard and assaulted with cricket bat, when he cried out asking for water, they gave him urine in a bottle to drink alleges the victim and family.

Meanwhile a officer from Byatarayanapura police station said that Pasha and his friends had a fight in middle of the road.

The police intervened and dispersed them from the spot.Pasha injured during the fight with his friends and bit later alleged that he was tortured in the custody.

He was not taken to the custody at all and some people are just misleading the media and all allegations are baseless the Sub inspector Harish told reporters.

It may be recalled that a 21-year-old Salman Khan, an employee at a meat stall who was detained by the police in a theft case, following which his arm had to be amputated after he was subjected to custodial violence.

The suspended police personnel were Head Constable Nagabhushan Gowda, and constables Nagaraj BN and Shivaraj H pending inquiry.

Senior officer said an inquiry has been ordered by DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,and a detailed investigation in the allegations will be probe by ACP rank officer based on which action will be taken on the police personnel who are found to be guilty in handling the case unscientifically he added.
