The state BJP has appealed to the chief election officials to allow the election to be held from 7 am to 10 pm.

The petition was filed by the party’s state secretaries S Keshava prasad and co-convener of the State Law Enforcement Yogendra Hodaghatta.

Election is a festival in a democratic country, the election is a democratic festival where every citizen participates enthusiastically amid these differences, without any difference of vote, weight, area, custom, opinion and walk among the public.

The election scenario is a time when political parties inform the public about their party’s agenda, programs, plans, development and achievements.

The election scenario is not just a matter of voting,it is also a golden opportunity to meet with voters face-to-face,the petition said.

Also,voters include farmers,mercenaries,building workers,workers in factories,street vendors,day labourers,towns people,office workers and so on.

After 7 p.m. It is not customary to visit them at their place of work,as it is customary and appropriate to meet them at their place of residence and to vote.

The publicity is only allowed at 7 pm and therefore it is impossible to contact the public during this short time.

Moreover,it is unscientific and unreasonable for voters to prohibit propaganda as soon as they can get to their place of residence, the petition said.

Therefore,by the other relevant provisions, the election campaign should be allowed from 7 am to 10 pm and in accordance with COVID rules, social mobilization should be permitted to hold campaigns, and rallies.

The BJP had appealed to the chief election officials to demand permission to put all these responsibly and systematically.

The appeal was made in the wake of blocking the election campaign from 7 pm to 10 am.
