Revenue officials collected arrears of Rs.5 Crore Property tax from Mantri Mall after shuting down the enterance of Mall

In the aftermath of a BBMP inquiry on the prominent Mantri Mall for not paying taxes, the main entrance to the Mall was locked by the BBMP officials after which the pending taxes were reportedly paid on Thursday.

The Mantri Mall in Malleshwaram had received many notices from the BBMP to pay the pending property tax.

However,the notice reportedly went unanswered, while the property tax amount was left unpaid. In the background of the non-payment, the BBMP officials locked the Mall’s entrance on Thursday.

Abhishek Developers (Mantri mall) which is in the Gandhinagar revenue sub-division,West Zone of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has not paid their property tax from 2018-19 and it’s in due.

For the year 2018-19 Rs.10,43,81,045 a cheque was given,Canara Bank Cheque number- 087643 was bounced as there was no sufficient balance in the account.

On this case, a court case number 16168/2021 has been registered.

In collection of taxes,many pending notices have been issued for tax evasion,and non-payment of asset date: 30-09-2021, the Mantri Mall doors were closed and Joint Commissioner (West) Shri Shivaswami and Revenue team of officials together went to visit the Mantri Mall to initiate action,Mantri Mall administrators have issued a DD of Rs.5,00,00,000 along with a requ estion letter which stated that, the remaining property tax dues will be paid by 31-10-2021.

Currently, the DDs have been submitted to Chief Commissioner’s special account and will be executed in the same way,said zonal joint commissioner.
