Seven impersonators including a police personnel have been caught red handed for impersonating the candidates to appear for written exam for the recruitment of special constables for reserve Battalions.

Dr Sanjeev M Patil, DCP West division,said while two impersonators are caught in West division,two each are caught in South and East division.

According to Mr.Patil the accused Nagappa Pavedeppa and Mallikarjuna Babalannavar were caught in two different examination centres in West division on Sunday.

Nagappa Pavedappa Tukkannavar.He was appearing for Halappa Narayan Hallur and Mallikarjun Babalannavar was writing for Hanumant Wagganavar.

The accused have applied leave for the job to come to Bengaluru and impersonating as candidates to write exam.

The candidates have also booked hotel room for the accused constables in Gandhinagar.The police have searched the room as part of the investigation.

Most of the operation seems to be based out of Gokak in belagavi, investigations are on he added.

The impersonators were arrested following a scrutiny conducted for invigilators at the exam centre.

The police have taken the accused into custody for further investigation.

The department vog recruitment and training conducted written exam on Sunday across the state for 17,940 constables post at 36 centres across the state.

The accused who have already serving in the department agreed to help the candidates for a monitory gain.The police are further investigating the case.
